Inspired by the work of the mid-century maker George Nakashima, this beautifully grained elm timber slab bench features a sweeping hand shaped front edge, steam bent elm back rail and turned maple spindles. Deciding the curve of the back rail and the placement of the spindles in a reactive process, guided by the grain of the timber and the shape and feel of the piece.
