As a wedding gift commission this was a really rewarding project to work on. The initial brief was very open: a solid wood table and bench in a refectory style. The main design was based on the for I used in a previous design for an oak clothes rail the deep chamfer to the edge of the table and bench top and the cut-away in the support introduce a lightness which nicely counterbalance the substantial design.
